EMDRIA stands for the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association. It is one of two organizations that provide training, education and certification to clinicians in the helping fields who wish to train in and become proficient in the practice of EMDR. EMDR trained clinicians are also invited to join a regional meeting near their practice area in order to stay connected with and to facilitate networking among EMDR trained professionals. Membership in EMDRIA is encouraged but not required to be a part of the local EMDRIA Regional Meeting. Certification or consultant status is also not required. Our local regional meeting has voted to meet once in the fall and once in the spring of each year in order to do informal consultation and networking as well as to obtain free formal training in EMDR as part of the continuing education requirement. Our meeting location alternates between Altoona and State College. If you are an EMDR trained practitioner and you would like to be involved in the regional meeting, please contact Lois Ehrmann at [email protected] or at the CHOICES offices (814) 237-0567 . Lois is the Coordinator of our regional group and she will put you on the announcement Listserv.
