Wellness Tip:  Setting Your Intention

Setting a clear intention is a way of pointing yourself in the direction of an important value or goal.  Intention precedes all movement in these human bodies, so we want to encourage your to become aware of your intentions and to practice setting wise and healthy intentions.

Thich Nhat Hanh is a master at this art.  He has written a few of his down to help us set our intention to understand the mundane routine things of life to be revealed as the extraordinary gifts.

Waking Up-Waking up this morning, I smile.

Twenty-four brand new hours are before me.  

I vow to live fully in each moment and to look at all the beings with eyes of compassion. 

 

 Breathing-Breathing in, I calm my body. Breathing out, I smile.

Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is a wonderful moment. 

 

 Looking in the Mirror-Awareness is a mirror reflecting the four elements.

Beauty is a heart that generates love and a mind that is open. 

 

Brushing Your Teeth- Brushing my teeth and rinsing my mouth,

I vow to speak purely and lovingly.

When my mouth is fragrant with right speech, a flower blooms in the garden of my heart.
